Handheld laser welding system
As a leader in high-power fiber laser and amplifier products, IPG Photonics today announced the launch of the revolutionary handheld laser welding system LightWELD in the Chinese market. Compared with traditional welding products, LightWELD products use laser solutions to provide manufacturers with more flexible, higher-precision, and easier-to-use solutions.
LightWELD 1500 handheld laser welding system
LightWELD is better than traditional MIG welding and TIG welding
Faster and easier to operate
The design and manufacture of LightWELD adopts the patented and patent-pending IPG fiber laser technology. With its small size, light weight and unique air-cooled device, it represents the paradigm change of other handheld laser welding systems on the market. This breakthrough portability is achieved through continuous innovation by IPG. Through innovation, IPG enables the laser output power to increase year by year, while the number of external dimensions decreases year by year.
TIG welding
Extremely high heat will be generated, deforming thin materials and producing unsightly welds. In addition, there are certain difficulties in welding copper materials, and the welding of metals with different thicknesses is also restricted.
MIG welding
Consuming welding wire, the material needs to complete pre-cleaning and bevel joints before it can fully penetrate the thick metal. Due to the limited welding travel direction and operating angle, vertical welding is extremely challenging.
Compared with traditional MIG welding and TIG welding, LightWELD can significantly increase the welding speed, is easier to learn and operate, and provide better and uniform welding results for welding of various materials and thicknesses, with little heat input, little or no Fill the welding wire to ensure that the weld is beautiful.
LightWELD built-in parameters and storage mode
Can optimize weld quality
The LightWELD control device is intuitive and concise, including 74 factory presets and user-defined processing parameters. Novice welders only need a few hours of training to master the welding operation. Reduce labor costs while improving quality, consistency and productivity. Users who are accustomed to using traditional welding methods (such as MIG welding and TIG welding) will benefit from the faster and more flexible processing capabilities brought by LightWELD. This equipment can weld thick, thin and high anti-metal materials, and minimize deformation, Undercut or burn through.
LightWELD built-in weaving welding
Improve productivity
The laser power of LightWELD is up to 1500W. For different materials and thicknesses, the best welding setting can be quickly selected through the intuitive adjustment knob. The stored welding mode can support up to 2500W peak power, which has a stronger welding ability.
LightWELD is equipped with swing welding as standard, which can achieve a weld width of up to 5mm, which improves the performance while the weld is beautifully formed. Other standard features include: 5 m long transmission fiber, which can expand the operating range; interfaces for gas and external connections; multi-level sensors and interlocking devices to ensure operator safety; and laser welding guns with swing/scan functions, Support wire feeding and nozzle types suitable for different welding occasions.
Unlike traditional welding methods, LightWELD welding fixtures are simpler, even without welding fixtures. The grounding point does not need to be completely cleaned, and even novices can reliably weld materials of different thicknesses and conductivity. In addition, the heat-affected zone is greatly reduced, as well as the subsequent grinding and polishing required by traditional welding methods, thereby increasing productivity, reducing waste and reducing the cost of each workpiece.
International safety standard + IPG protection system
Double security
The safety of handheld laser welding equipment has always been a concern of the public. The overall design of LIGHTWELD pays more attention to the safety of operators, and the product design complies with EU and international safety standards:
#

IPG applies leading fiber laser technology to hand-held laser welding equipment, making LightWELD have a higher safety factor and built-in multiple safety protection functions:
The key switch and emergency stop button of the laser light source ensure the safety of operation
Optical fiber interlocking device to ensure the integrity of the connection between the laser beam and the welding torch
Two-step welding gun trigger switch (step 1 laser enable, step 2 laser emission) to ensure safe operation
Workpiece electrical contact interlocking device, when the welding gun is not in effective contact with the workpiece to be welded, the laser will be turned off
LIGHTWELD belongs to Class IV high-power laser equipment. To ensure safe use, operators must wear all recommended personal protective equipment (PPE), including the laser protective glasses provided with LightWELD and welding mask equipped with laser protective windows, which are laser resistant and heat resistant Gloves, hats, leather aprons and other anti-laser and heat-resistant clothing.
