Laser chillers are currently widely used in laser production and processing industries, such as various types of lasers and laser equipment with various powers, and are a right-hand man for lasers and laser equipment.


Many friends in the laser industry may have a headache for the selection of the chiller used in the laser industry. After all, choosing a chiller that matches the laser cutting machine you use can greatly improve the service life and processing accuracy of the laser chiller. The performance of the equipment is maximized. This is what we often call a laser chiller. So, where should you consider when choosing a laser chiller?





The first point is that the cooling capacity of the chiller should be considered: as the name suggests, it refers to the actual cooling capacity of the chiller. The heat drawn from the equipment to be cooled in a unit time when the chiller works is an index to measure the cooling capacity of the chiller. It is also the first indicator of laser chiller selection.


The second point is that we should determine the chilled water volume of the chiller according to the use of the laser cutting machine: many customers generally pay attention to the cooling capacity, and often ignore the indicator of the chilled water volume. The cooling capacity represents the cooling capacity provided by the compressor, while the chilled water capacity represents the ability of the chiller to take away heat.


The third point is to understand thermal efficiency and water tank capacity: the above two concepts lead to the concept of chiller thermal efficiency and water tank capacity, that is, the compressor's working throttling control method and water tank size two indicators. Generally, the larger the water tank, the better, but different compressor control methods (capillary tube or thermal expansion valve) are very different in design. This is the same compressor cooling capacity and water tank capacity, the operation control method with PID feedback function will greatly improve the cooling capacity of the overall system.


The fourth point, temperature control accuracy: This indicator is entirely from the requirements of the laser. For semiconductor lasers, the temperature control accuracy must be ±0.1°C. This requires the compressor to predict the law of temperature changes and adapt to load changes. Generally, integrated temperature control is used. It is impossible for modular chillers to do this. Of course, the temperature requirement for CO2 laser is ±2℃ to ±5℃, which can be done by most special chillers on the market.


The fifth point is the water quality requirements and water filtration and water circulation system materials: this comprehensive index is often ignored, but it is very reusable and directly affects the life of the laser chiller. Therefore, in the process of installing the laser chiller, you can perform water treatment operations on the water quality, or install filters to prevent various impurities from entering the pipeline and affecting the operation of the chiller.
